Annual Meeting

Monday, May 10, 2010

Fishers Train Station

The meeting was called to order by Dave Lawson, President.

I. Welcome and Introductions.

II. Secretary’s Report – Ginny Olsen read the minutes from last year’s annual meeting held on May 4, 2009.  Shirley Lopes moved and Maryellen Bein seconded the motion to accept the secretary’s report.  The motion carried.

III. President’s Report – The Landscape Committee, Chaired by Shirley Lopes, helped clean the area around the lake and cemetery.  They are looking for volunteers and have a special need for an individual or group interested in focusing on the Orchard Boulevard entrance.   They held a Holiday Decorating Contest and awarded first and second prizes to homes in our neighborhood which will continue next year.  Illegal parking is still an issue.  Kenneth Lay, Fire Chief, TOF, has asked that we park properly so emergency vehicles can respond quickly in our neighborhood.  Yellow paint has been approved and will be deployed in the spring/summer.  Work effort on the 125 sections of sidewalk repairs will be completed this summer.  Mike Colby will follow-up with Deb Driskell of Delaware Township the status of the Heady Cemetery Plaque.  The Lake Vista/OCA picnic is planned for Saturday, June 12, 1:00 p.m.  A sign-up sheet was available at the meeting for all those interested in volunteer work. Committee meetings are held from 6:30-7:00 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Pizza Hut, as needed, followed by the Board Meeting.   Executive Session begins at 8:00 p.m.

IV. Treasurer’s Report – Steve Myers reviewed the treasurer’s report to date.  Kathleen Jackman moved and Bob Shimer seconded to accept the treasurer’s report.  The motion carried.

V. Election of Officers – Mike Colby facilitated the election of officers.  He asked for nominations for President.  Dave Lawson moved and Darlene Wilson seconded Kim South for President.  Kim South moved and Shirley Lopes seconded Dave Lawson for Vice President.  Skip Thomas moved and Karen Cohn seconded Ginny Olsen for Secretary.  Rick Bein moved and Kathleen Jackman seconded Steve Myers for Treasurer.   There were no other nominations.  Mike closed the nominations.  The slate was voted on as a whole.  The officers were elected unanimously.

VI. Open Discussion –

Allisonville Road Expansion: TOF has proposed and recommended widening of Allisonville from Sunblest to 126th Street.  If expansion of Allisonville is something you would not be embracing, residents were urged to form a committee to gather additional information from the TOF/Jeff Heiking and the Town Council.   The HMH boys are lined up to mow the meridian again this year. The replacement tree in the median did not survive and will be replaced again.   Dave Lawson urged residents to sign up for the TOF Crime Watch Alert System

VII. A motion to adjourn was made by Darlene Wilson and seconded by Kathleen Jackman.  The meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted by Ginny Olsen, Secretary.
